Imphal: A massive fire ripped through Kumbi Bazar in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Tuesday evening. Flames erupted at Kumbi Keithel Thongkhong around 6:30 pm. Panic spread as fire consumed three commercial shops. A grocery store, a barber shop, and a pan shop-cum-hotel turned to ash. No injuries occurred.

First responders arrived quickly. The Moirang Fire Brigade brought three engines to the scene. The Fire Disaster Management Team joined them for an intensive, hours-long fight against the blaze. Soldiers, local police, and neighbors pitched in to stop the fire from jumping to nearby buildings. Officials currently believe a short circuit triggered the disaster.

The fire caused property damage worth crores. Authorities launched a formal investigation to confirm the exact cause and calculate the final financial hit. As officials work to assess the total destruction, they stated that "further details awaited."
