Manipur official inspects Kangpokpi polling stations ahead of elections

Imphal: Additional Chief Secretary Anurag Bajpai arrived in Kangpokpi District to audit election readiness. He checked voting sites across the 46-Saikul (ST), 50-Kangpokpi (General), and 51-Saitu (ST) constituencies. The visit focused on polling station infrastructure.

Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar and Superintendent of Police Rahul Gupta greeted Bajpai at the Mini Secretariat. They huddled in the DC chamber to brief the District Election Officer, Electoral Registration Officers, and Sub-Divisional Officers. Stakes remain high. The team categorized stations as normal, critical, or critical and vulnerable.

Bajpai personally inspected the setup to confirm Assured Minimum Facilities were ready for the public. He checked for electricity, ramps, toilets, furniture, and drinking water. He verified that every location featured proper signage, separate entry and exit points, ground-floor access, and mobile connectivity. Regarding these preparations, an official statement noted the focus is on "ensuring a conducive and accessible environment for voters."
