Imphal: Troops from the 112 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force moved fast. On Monday, November 2, they pulled a critically ill boy from a remote spot in Manipur. The child, Ngamvanghao, suffered from a severe hepatitis infection that needed immediate medical care.

Chalwa village sits deep in the Kangpokpi district along the IT Road in the Twilang area. Getting to a doctor there is a nightmare. The CRPF team broke through those barriers to get him out. They moved him directly to the District Hospital in Kangpokpi for treatment.

His family is relieved. They expressed gratitude to the CRPF personnel for "helping ensure his safe evacuation and access to medical care." The boy remains in the hospital tonight as he continues his recovery.
