Imphal: The Chemist and Druggist Association, Kangpokpi District, is demanding immediate arrests following an August 27 attack on a government medical team. A mob intercepted health workers at Chavangkining village along the IT Road. The group allegedly assaulted staff, torched vital medical supplies, and wrecked emergency ambulances. Central Reserve Police Force personnel were present during the chaos.

Dr. Mangpi Shoute, the Senior Medical Officer at PHC Kangpokpi, led the official deployment. The association identified the Senapati District Students' Association and the Chavangkining Village Authority as the mob leaders. These actions block public service and destroy state assets. The association warned the Manipur government that inaction will trigger intense protests. President Vungkhohen Kipgen and secretary Letminthang Thang Khongsai signed the formal statement on September 2.

The group insists they will not tolerate violence against health providers. "We continue to stand for unity, harmony, and mutual respect within our community, but we will never compromise on the safety of those who save lives," the association stated. They are now calling for legal proceedings and exemplary punishment for all involved.
