Imphal: The Manipur Youth League celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day on Monday at Chanura Leikol in Khurai Angom Leikai. President Koijam Suresh used the event to demand that citizens look past party lines during the 13th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections. These polls hit the calendar in March 2027. Voters hold the steering wheel for the state's future.
Suresh warned that bad choices at the ballot box could invite more instability. He pushed for leaders who prioritize public welfare over political gain to pull the state out of its long-running cycle of hardship. "Electing capable and accountable leaders was essential for building a peaceful, prosperous and progressive society," Suresh stated during the media briefing.
The league focused on the theme of national regeneration during the event. Guests included former anthropology professor W. Nabakumar, MAYOL founder Ashem Prince, and chief adviser Longjam Ratan. Moderator Ahongshangbam Mobi guided a series of talks on democratic duties. Experts Akoijam Shethajit, Dr. Dhanabir Laishram, and Yumnam Rupachandra spoke on youth engagement, the role of citizens, and media influence in the upcoming campaign. The group maintains that political awareness remains the best tool for the state to fix its broken path.
