Guwahati: Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) stopped a major drug pipeline. They seized Rs 46.25 crore in narcotics across Assam and Mizoram. The joint team acted on intelligence to hunt down synthetic drug networks. Operation success followed precise surveillance.

In Cachar, agents hit Dholai Bazar on October 30. They intercepted a vehicle carrying 20 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine. The haul holds an estimated value of Rs 40 crore. Three suspects were caught on the spot. Officers also seized three mobile phones and two vehicles. This marks the first time crystal meth has been seized in this region. Officials said the operation dealt a "significant blow to organised synthetic drug trafficking networks operating in the area."

The drugs allegedly moved from Mizoram to Silchar. The city serves as a transit hub for smugglers heading toward mainland India. Sources say these batches originated in Myanmar and the Golden Triangle.

A second strike took place at Ramthar North in Aizawl. Security forces recovered 7.813 kilograms of Yaba tablets. These stimulants carry a street value of Rs 6.25 crore. Two more individuals were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. All five detainees remain in custody. Investigations continue to map the financial links behind the supply chain. Border security remains a top priority.
