Aizawl: Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence intercepted 15 kg of methamphetamine near the Sakei Bangla Restaurant in Seling. The haul carries a street value of Rs 45 crore. Officers pulled over a Suzuki Eeco ambulance on Thursday after a tip-off. The suspects masked their illegal delivery as a medical emergency. They even placed a woman inside the van to pose as a patient. It fooled nobody.

The joint team arrested three people at the scene. They took the ambulance into custody along with the drugs. Officials transferred the suspects and the confiscated items to the DRI for legal processing under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Assam Rifles officials called the operation a "significant narcotics recovery in Mizoram." This arrest marks a push by security forces to tear apart trafficking rings along the international border.
