Aizawl: Mizoram lawmakers begin a two-day monsoon session on August 25. Speaker Lalbiakzama chaired the Business Advisory Committee meeting on August 14 to set the schedule. Officials confirmed the agenda on August 17.

The House will move to formally adopt Ro Min Rel Sak Ang Che as the official state song. The state cabinet approved this move on August 10. Rokunga, a noted Mizo writer, composed the piece in 1947. Its title means "Be Thou Our Counsellor." The underground Mizo National Front government once used the song as a national anthem during the insurgency. It stayed popular without official status until the government ordered schools to sing it daily starting in 2022.

Legislators have submitted 295 starred and 73 unstarred questions for the floor. Ministers must provide oral or written answers. The Assembly also expects to introduce new legislation. The Mizoram Water Information and Governance Bill, 2026, sits at the top of that list. Two bills await introduction.
