Imphal: Manipur officials published final photo electoral rolls for all 60 Assembly constituencies, confirming a total of 1,960,620 registered electors. The state electorate grew by 26,221 voters since the draft roll. Chief Electoral Officer Arun Kumar Sinha confirmed the figures at a Lamphel press conference.
Statewide, the roll includes 953,350 men, 1,006,962 women, and 308 third-gender electors. The gender ratio sits at 1,056 women per 1,000 men. An additional 20,819 service voters appear on a separate list published the same day. Authorities also confirmed an elector-population ratio of 51.99.
The revision process hit the hill districts hard. Kangpokpi saw the steepest drop, losing 11,471 electors to finish at 88,414. Senapati also shed 4,780 voters. Conversely, Ukhrul gained 5,292, reaching 88,614. Churachandpur led the growth, adding 5,969 voters for a total of 161,123. Tamenglong added 1,750, Chandel 993, Kamjong 453, Pherzawl 408, Noney 247, and Tengnoupal 18.
Before the draft roll even appeared on July 5, officials excluded 158,677 people who failed to submit enumeration forms. Reasons included 72,473 shifted, 43,000 dead, 34,740 absent, and 7,394 duplicates. The grueling verification process issued 1,221,833 notices to address unmapped electors and logical discrepancies. Following scrutiny, officials purged another 26,362 voters for missing or bad documentation.
Sinha noted the final count came after processing 96,985 claims and objections. "The figures indicate that the additions during the claims and objections process more than offset the deletions, resulting in a net increase in the electorate from the draft roll," said Sinha. In total, the revision added 56,871 names while removing 30,650.
Voters can check their status at ERO, AERO, or BLO offices. The rolls are live on the CEO Manipur website. Political parties have already received copies for all constituencies.
