Imphal: The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) in Manipur elected a 20-member Central Committee for the 2026-2029 term. The vote took place on September 26 at the group's head office in Kabo Leikai, Imphal East. Sixty-seven representatives and delegates from various component and subsidiary organisations attended the meeting. The body reviewed and adopted the outgoing committee's final report before seating the new leaders.
Hemam Jogendro Meetei will serve as president. Arambam Rabindra takes the role of vice-president. Ningthoujam Bhumeshwor secured the general secretary position, while Khundongbam Anand serves as joint secretary. Puyam Rakesh steps in as the IPR secretary-cum-spokesperson. The committee also includes 15 executive members: Rakesh Moirangthem, Naorem Nepolean, Khangembam Jadumani Meitei, Shahabuddin Cheshaba, Moirangthem Suresh, Laishram Shintha, Moijingmayum Israr Khan, Elangbam Romedy, Md. Ajimuddin Shah, Ningthoujam Rita, Sorokhaibam Ranjan, Vedajit Thounaojam, Chanamthabam Bidyasunder, Maimom Lalitkumar Meetei, and Waikhom Ashalata.
Attendees spent the session debating future policies and programs. The committee confirmed its path forward. "The newly constituted Central Committee resolved to continue working towards achieving the objectives and goals of FOCS with the support and cooperation of its component and subsidiary organisations," the group stated. Work starts now.
