Imphal: The Chingdai Area Core Committee issued a 24-hour ultimatum to Manipur Police, the CRPF, and CoBRA units. They demand the return of civilian cash and goods seized during an October 20 combing operation. The raid occurred in S. Phailengkot village inside the Saikul sub-division.
Locals claim security forces robbed them during the early morning sweep. The missing inventory includes solar lamps, batteries, mobile chargers, power banks, and traditional daos. Thieves also took livestock like chickens and ducks. The committee reports the loss of Rs 40,000 in cash. Tensions remain high. The group calls this a looting spree disguised as a police operation.
Commanders failed their men. CACCO leaders criticized the local commanding officer for allowing the alleged misconduct. They set a November 4 deadline for the restitution of all property. If the goods do not reappear, the committee plans to file a formal FIR against the involved personnel, their commander, and the three security agencies. The committee issued a stern warning. "Respect civilians' hard-earned money and property," the group said.
