Imphal: The Kangleipak Communist Party, acting through its armed wing Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi, admitted to orchestrating grenade attacks on November 2. Their Special Task Force targeted the Thangmeiband home of Raju Nong in the morning. They also bombed the residence of Yambem Victor at Kongpal Mutum Leikai in the Imphal East district around 6:30 pm.
KCP media coordinator A. Luwangba justified the strikes in a press release. The outfit accused Raju Sharma, known as Raju Nong, of undermining their armed movement and ignoring repeated warnings over three years. They claimed attempts to resolve the conflict through discussion failed. Regarding Yambem Victor, the group cited his ties to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences as the reason for his targeting. They alleged he ignored multiple telephone warnings to stop his supposed wrongful activities.
The group issued a blunt ultimatum. "The outfit warned both Raju Nong and Yambem Victor to rectify their alleged activities within the period specified in its final warning, cautioning that further action could follow if they failed to comply."
The organization also addressed internal concerns. They claimed unnamed individuals were exploiting the KCP name for extortion. They demanded these people stop their illegal work, claiming such actions ruin the reputation of their movement.
