PREPAK (Pro) Claims Responsibility for Imphal Bombing Targeting RAF

Imphal: The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive), known as PREPAK (Pro), claimed responsibility for the bomb blast at New Lambulane in Imphal East district. The attack occurred at 9.17 pm on October 8. Its Cobra Task Force, a special mobile unit, executed the strike.

Assistant Publicity Secretary L. Ningsingba issued a statement condemning the Rapid Action Force. The group alleges the force used stun grenades against protesters, deployed electric shock batons on women, and fired pellet guns at students. Some students suffered eye injuries. The group warns of more attacks. "The outfit further warned that its Cobra Task Force would carry out bomb attacks and other explosive actions when circumstances warranted."

The militants blasted the Centre for its policy in Manipur. They claim the presence of the Indian Army and RAF fuels conflict. The group argues these forces increase civilian suffering rather than solving local issues. They demand the removal of the security units.
