Imphal: Longjam Paliba M, chairman of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) Progressive, launched a sharp attack against the Indian government. He accused New Delhi of threatening the territorial integrity of Manipur. The outfit marked the 50th Raising Day of its Red Army on October 9. Paliba paid tribute to fallen members while highlighting the suffering of those injured or displaced during the regional conflict.
The chairman dismissed India’s economic growth metrics as nothing more than "Gross Domestic Propaganda." He argued that the BJP-led government manipulates these figures to mask widespread poverty. Paliba further claimed that the central administration favors specific groups and fails to protect indigenous communities, despite the presence of government forces.
Paliba alleged that armed Kuki groups received sophisticated weapons, though these claims remain unverified. He accused the state government of failing to protect citizens, noting that families still cannot return to their homes or cultivate abandoned paddy fields. He specifically pointed to the killing of villagers at Pilong, allegedly by the Kuki National Front (B), to challenge the effectiveness of official government security operations.
The leader also questioned India's global stance. He criticized the government for participating in both BRICS and the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue while allegedly fueling internal strife. Paliba urged for tighter discipline and unity among his supporters, warning that short-term movements without deep planning will fail. He concluded by casting doubt on the Election Commission of India and the commitment of valley-based elected representatives to resolve the ongoing crisis.
