Imphal: The Naga Hoho civil body denounced the Leilon Vaiphei massacre and accused the Indian Armed Forces of teaming up with Kuki elements to wage a proxy war. During a statement on August 1, the group mourned six Naga men killed in the incident. They reported that the victims had been "satanically mutilated and dismembered."

The group gathered at the 3rd Federal Assembly on July 31, 2026, at the Senapati District Headquarters in Manipur. They raised alarms regarding plans for Cordon and Search Operations in Naga villages. They argued these house-to-house searches harass women, children, and the elderly. They labeled this practice collective punishment. The Assembly demanded an immediate end to militarization and the use of villages as operational corridors. They warned that any attempt to suppress rights or use land for proxy conflict will be resisted.

Simultaneously, the NSCN (IM) marked the 11th anniversary of the August 3, 2015 Framework Agreement. Chairman Q. Tuccu accused the Indian government of inciting surrogate Kuki mercenary forces to fight against the Nagas. He claimed New Delhi is seeking an escape route to overturn the agreement. Tuccu stated, "Anything that is deceitfully planned to go against the spirit and letter of the Framework Agreement is simply an act of betrayal of the mutual agreement."

Tuccu warned that ignoring the deal invites armed confrontation and political instability. He claimed the agreement recognizes the unique history and sovereignty of the Naga people. Both groups remain firm. They call for unity to protect Naga territory and identity against what they describe as colonial policies from the central government.
