Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised full support to Manipur on October 10. He met Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi. The state government wants peace. Khemchand detailed local plans to fix broken trust between warring communities.

The Chief Minister highlighted recent transport wins. Buses run again between Imphal, Dimapur, and Guwahati. Trucks carry goods along National Highway 37 to Silchar and National Highway 2 to Dimapur. These routes act as vital lifelines for the region. Khemchand wants more infrastructure. He asked the Prime Minister to turn specific state highways into national ones. He also requested that the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal get an upgrade to AIIMS status.

Modi liked the progress. He told the Chief Minister that the situation in Manipur had improved. He promised to look at local demands while keeping the goals of the people in mind. Khemchand extended a formal invite for Modi to visit the state. The meeting focused on long-term stability and regional connectivity.
