Imphal: A joint team from Patsoi Police Station and CDO/Imphal West intercepted a Bolero pickup at Moidangpok Mamang Leikai on September 8. Officers found 1,000 litres of DIC liquor hidden inside the vehicle. The truck, identified by registration number AS11FC-9358, was seized on the spot.

Police detained two men during the operation. They are 24-year-old Sangbamang Pamei, son of Dindu Panmei from Chaangdai Village in Tamenglong, and 46-year-old Ningthoujam Tappu Singh, son of N. Achanba Singh from Moidangpok Mamang Leikai.

Authorities moved quickly. Officers handed the suspects, the vehicle, and the entire haul of contraband to the Officer-in-Charge of Excise Station, New Keithelmanbi. The transfer ensures the agency takes "further formalities and necessary action" against the pair.
