Imphal: Alhaj Md. Alauddin is dead. The former Manipur minister and MLA for the 30-Lilong Assembly Constituency passed away today. He was the eldest son of the late Chief Minister Md. Alimuddin. He followed his father into the state political arena.
Alauddin lived in Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi. He spent his life serving the public. The Namaz-e-Janaza took place at his home at 4 pm today. Political leaders paid their respects to his legacy and his family.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand and former Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren issued statements regarding the death. The Manipur Ex. MLA Welfare Association also expressed their condolences. Many remember his long service to the state. One colleague stated, "He was associated with public service and the political life of Manipur."
