Guwahati: VFS Global teamed up with the Donatekart Foundation to bring relief to 2,230 flood victims in Assam’s Sivasagar district. The groups handed out 500 hygiene kits and 230 baby food kits. They targeted families who rely on daily wages and farming after floods wrecked their homes and fields. Teams identified these gaps after talking with local leaders and district officials.

Yummi Talwar, the Chief Operating Officer for South Asia at VFS Global, acknowledged the severe damage to local families. "The floods in Assam have had a significant impact on families and communities, disrupting lives and livelihoods," Talwar said.

Sarang Bobade, CEO and founder of the Donatekart Foundation, noted that mothers were desperate for basic supplies during the disaster. Bobade spent 30 days working on the ground in the region this year. He saw firsthand how quickly the situation deteriorated for women and children. This effort marks another chapter in a partnership that previously delivered ration kits to 684 people in Andhra Pradesh and provided winter gear to 366 individuals.

VFS Global has reached 12,000 people across India through 40 separate humanitarian projects throughout 2026. The company, headquartered in Zurich and Dubai, is majority-owned by Blackstone. The Donatekart Foundation, which started in 2016, manages a network of over 500 nonprofit partners to ship direct aid to people in crisis.
