Guwahati: Assamese influencer Bhukhan Pathak is back on the ground. He just finished the first phase of a flood relief drive in the Sivasagar and Jorhat districts. Pathak handed out Rs 3 lakh in aid to families hit by the recent deluge. He pulled Rs 1.5 lakh from his own pocket while public donations added another Rs 1 lakh. Donors chipped in an extra Rs 50,000 worth of supplies. The aid package covered daily rations and basic necessities for those struggling to survive.

The work is not over. Pathak has launched the second phase of his mission. This effort focuses on families who lost their homes or sustained heavy damage. He is currently raising money to fix shelters and replace destroyed tube wells. So far, he has gathered Rs 1.5 lakh for this cause. He plans to add more of his own money to finish the job.

Pathak is a native of Bishnupur, Barpeta. He is the son of Shrimati Nalini Pathak and the late Shri Dinesh Pathak. He has been a consistent presence during disasters since 2018. Supporters praise his habit of showing up in person instead of just posting online. He believes in using his platform for more than just clicks. He once stated, "social media should be used not only for entertainment but also to stand beside people during difficult times." Pathak continues to solicit funds as he works to get families back into stable housing.
