Guwahati: Khairun Bibi survived a life-threatening cobra bite. The 45-year-old woman was working in her vegetable garden in Chandra village, located in the Boko area of Assam, when the snake struck. Emergency responders rushed her to the Boko Primary Health Centre for urgent care.
Senior physician Dr. Homen Nath took charge of the case. He initiated a massive anti-venom regimen to counteract the potent toxin. Bibi required 22 doses of anti-venom injections to survive. Her condition eventually stabilized, and hospital staff declared her out of danger.
Dr. Nath warned against wasting time on traditional folk remedies. He insists victims must go to a hospital immediately. "He also urged people to avoid relying on traditional remedies and instead take snakebite victims to the nearest health facility without delay." Delaying professional care often leads to fatal results, according to the medical team.
