Guwahati: A new diagnostic laboratory is now open at the Rural Health Training Centre in Chabua. The facility launched Tuesday under a Corporate Social Responsibility project funded by Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited. This lab boosts local medical services and training programs.
Assam Medical College officials joined BCPL representatives for the ribbon cutting. The Principal and Chief Superintendent of the college served as the Chief Guest. General Manager of HR at BCPL, Rohini Kt. Sarmah, attended as the Guest of Honour. Gaurangie Gogoi, the head of the Community Medicine department, stood alongside staff from both institutions to mark the opening.
The RHTC Chabua has provided public health services since 1957. It functions under the guidance of the Assam government as a key training site. The center manages immunizations, outbreak control, and outpatient care. The new lab improves their reach. It supports students and research. "The new diagnostic laboratory is expected to strengthen the centre's diagnostic capabilities and healthcare services for the surrounding population," organizers noted during the event.
