Guwahati: Eleven Ayushman Arogya Mandirs in Barpeta, Assam, earned National Quality Assurance Standards certification for the 2026-27 fiscal year. This official status covers all performance data recorded through October 2026. The award signals a major boost for regional primary healthcare.
The specific sites include Balarpathar, Dekarbari, and Nisuka in Kalgachia. Pathimari and Baniakuchi in Chenga made the list alongside Sathbhitha and Kandapara in Mandia. Dabaliapara, Joypur, and Dangarkuchi under Bhawanipur and Moutupri near Barpeta Road round out the group.
Assessment teams scrutinized service provision, patient rights, and clinical care. They also checked infection control, documentation, and infrastructure. Success required a massive team effort. Medical officers, community health officers, auxiliary nurse midwives, ASHAs, and multi-purpose workers drove these improvements.
The District Health Society and Block Programme Management Units coordinated the work. The District Health Society praised the staff but warned against complacency. They stated: "The District Health Society, Barpeta, has appreciated the efforts of the healthcare personnel and stressed the need for continuous monitoring and quality improvement to sustain the standards achieved." Officials expect the certification to expand patient access to reliable care across local communities.
