Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu cut the ribbon on 5 crore rupees worth of infrastructure projects at K.C. Das Commerce College in Guwahati on November 6. MLA Vijay Gupta and several other officials joined him at the ceremony.

These upgrades fall under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan scheme. The plan funds new academic buildings and specialized tech rooms. Construction for the primary academic building alone accounts for 2.77 crore rupees. Students now have access to a computer laboratory housing 150 machines. The college also added an Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology lab alongside a digital studio.

Pegu praised the national program on X. He stated, "The centrally sponsored PM-USHA scheme is helping colleges and universities upgrade infrastructure, improve academic standards and expand learning opportunities for students." Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the initiative to modernize higher education across the country.
