Guwahati: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu toured Maibang District College on Saturday. He came to assess the school's infrastructure and academic future. Established in 1988, the college serves the ancient capital of the Dimasa kingdom. It recently added a Science stream to its established Arts program. This change creates more learning options for local students.
The college sits on 100 bighas of level land. Pegu met with the principal and teaching staff to discuss current challenges. He noted his visit on social media, stating: "Visited 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 in Dima Hasao today to review its academic functioning and institutional activities."
Pegu also held a review meeting at the PM SHRI Maibang Higher Secondary School. He looked at regional education progress. The talk covered government schemes and ways to boost quality education standards across the hill district. He finished the trip by inspecting a 50-bedded hostel and Kalachand High School. These inspections aim to identify immediate needs for better housing and learning facilities for the students.
