Guwahati: A total of 716 residents received medical treatment and consultations at a health camp held at Bahari High School in Assam. The event, part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, took place in the Chenga Development Block of Barpeta. Doctors provided specialized care across several fields including Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, ENT, and Ophthalmology. AYUSH Medical Officers also joined the team to offer advice.

District Commissioner of Barpeta and the local MLA attended the site to review public services and meet with those seeking care. The officials observed as health workers and department staff worked to bring services to the local level. A Mobile Medical Unit handled laboratory diagnostics and general check-ups on the premises.

The camp prioritized disease prevention. Community Health Officers and the ACCF team screened 250 people for hypertension and another 250 for diabetes. Cancer screenings reached 125 individuals for oral cancer, while 85 women underwent checks for breast and cervical cancer respectively. Staff provided counselling and referrals for those needing follow-up care.

Organizers ran a yoga session to encourage healthy living. Beyond medical aid, the event functioned as a one-stop shop for government documentation. Attendees received PM-JAY cards for cashless healthcare, along with help for Birth and Death Registration, Assurance Certificates, and UDID processing. The initiative aimed to connect experts with residents. "The initiative brought together specialist doctors, frontline health workers and officials from different departments to provide healthcare, screening, counselling and essential public services closer to residents under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan."
