Guwahati: The District Health Society in Dhubri, Assam, treated 6,584 patients during a massive health outreach program called Sewa Sankalp Abhijan. Doctors hit rural blocks and riverine villages to reach people stuck far from medical hubs. They cut through the isolation. The drive brought specialized care directly to the most ignored parts of the district.
Eight specialists managed the General OPD and Eye OPD units. Beyond medical advice, the camps handled government paperwork. Locals filed for birth, death, and disability certificates on the spot. Sites included the Agomoni Block Office, Birsing Gram Panchayat, Kumarganj Gram Panchayat, Bilasipara SIRD Training Centre, Municipal Board, Nashkara-Jamadarhat, Athani Block Office, and Sapotgram.
Moyezuddin Ahmed, the District Media Expert, explained the push to connect services. "Our primary focus under the Sewa Sankalp Abhijan has been to bridge the healthcare gap in remote riverine villages and rural pockets. By pairing specialist consultations with essential administrative services like disability and birth registrations, we are delivering holistic healthcare directly to the people's doorsteps," Ahmed said. The district plans to keep pushing resources into these underserved pockets.
