Guwahati: Dhubri officials started a 60-day public health push on Tuesday, September 8. District Commissioner Dibakar Nath flagged off a mobile IEC van from the DC Office campus to mark the event. The vehicle will roam urban and rural pockets to spread the word. It is a big mission.
The Office of the Joint Director of Health Services is running the operation alongside local NGOs. They will set up two health camps every single day. These will pop up at schools, private institutions, and community centres. The effort targets growing worries about HIV and sexually transmitted infections. Risks like drug abuse and needle sharing are in the spotlight.
Joint Director of Health Services Jyoti Kumar Das said the department is working with partner groups to ensure wider community engagement during the campaign. Officials want locals to show up. They are pushing for voluntary testing and better health habits across the district.
Commissioner Nath asked residents to step up. He wants people to cooperate with health authorities and take part in the drive. The goal is clear: get information to every corner of the district and get people tested.
