Kohima: Lions Club of Dimapur Elite dispatched a shipment of essential relief supplies to Mon district on August 9. Flooding in the region disrupted thousands of lives. Families face an urgent shortage of basic necessities. Club members and supporters donated the items to assist those struggling through the crisis.
The cargo includes rice, atta, biscuits, and cooking oil. The aid package also contains steel utensils, buckets, containers, and bottles. To address health and hygiene, the group sent sanitary pads, first-aid kits, mosquito nets, bedsheets, and cartons of clothing. School bags and stationery were included to support local students.
Club President Ritika Jain oversaw the handover alongside Secretary Sakshi Binaykia, Project Chairperson Vaidika Jain, and Flood Relief Chairman PK Jain. Jeange accepted the donation on behalf of the Mon district. The club stated the effort aims to provide comfort and support during a difficult period. "The initiative was aimed at providing hope, comfort and support to flood-affected families during the difficult period," the organization stated.
The club confirmed the effort serves as a reminder to those impacted. They want families to know they are not alone. The community stands in solidarity with Mon.
