Kohima: The Lions Club of Dimapur Elite held their Saawan Ki Mehfil event on August 22 at Durga Mandir. About 160 people showed up for the music and dance filled evening. The event kicked off with a ceremonial lamp lighting by District Governor Nina Dutta, Guiding Neeta Agarwal, Cabinet Member Anjali, Club President Ritika Jain, and Immediate Past President Meena Sethi.
Festivities included contests like Best Saawan Ki Malika, Best Solah Shringar, and a Best Jodi Ramp Walk. Mantu Jain walked away with the Best Saawan Ki Malika award for best dressed. Judges also handed out consolation prizes. Dancers from Dance With Simon Academy performed for the crowd. A Tambola session kept the energy high throughout the night.
Club members dressed in pink leheriya outfits. They wore traditional gajras and mehendi to set the mood. The club leadership team presented a special Best Elite Dressed Woman Award. Lion Shweta Mundra chaired the event, with Lion Payal Jain assisting as co-chairperson. Lions Prerna Maheshwari and Shweta Mundra hosted the show.
Organizers stated the gathering helped build stronger ties within the group. They noted the event "strengthened fellowship, camaraderie and togetherness among Lions members and the wider community."
