Kohima: The District Executive Force in Peren starts its annual firing exercise tomorrow. The training runs from October 12 to 16 at the Unit Firing Range in New Reserve. Live drills begin at 6:30 am each day.
The Office of the Superintendent of Police issued a formal circular regarding the safety protocols. Local authorities must warn villagers living near the range to stay clear of the site. Nobody should enter the restricted zone during the five-day window.
Officials also ordered residents to keep animals out of the firing zone. "Prevent cattle from straying into the firing range area to avoid any untoward incidents or injuries," the police stated. This measure aims to stop accidental harm during the exercises.
