Wokha Security Staff Complete Crisis Response Training

Kohima: Security personnel at the Sakhi One Stop Centre in Wokha completed a 10-day intensive training course on July 16. Held at the District Hospital, the program prepared guards to protect survivors of violence while navigating complex legal and emergency situations. The training sessions covered situational awareness, access control, de-escalation, self-defence, rescue, and evacuation procedures.

K. Mhathung Tsanglao, Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of Mission Shakti, served as the special guest at the ceremony. During his address, he noted, "the initiative marked an important step towards enhancing the quality of services provided by the One Stop Centre." He emphasized that skilled guards are vital for protecting the dignity of women seeking aid.

Superintendent of Police T. Relo Aye praised the centre for maintaining an organized and welcoming environment. He stated that the upkeep of the facility provides comfort to women in crisis. DPO and Mission Shakti member Bonathung Ngullie also backed the effort as a necessary move for the team.

The course participants confirmed the training improved their crisis management and gender sensitivity. Centre Administrator Thungbeni Kikon hosted the event. Chonbeni R. Ezung chaired the session, while Legal Case Worker Nzammongi Odyuo gave the closing remarks. Every trainee received a certificate upon finishing the program.
