Wokha Medical Camp Provides Free Health Services to Over 200 Residents

Kohima: Longsa Baptist Church teamed up with the Wokha Medical Department to host a free health clinic on August 22. More than 200 local residents showed up for the event. The camp operated directly on church grounds to boost community wellness.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Thungchangbemo Ezung spoke at the event. He pushed for steady exercise and better eating habits. "Regular intake of a nutritious and balanced diet could help prevent diseases," Ezung said. His talk focused on keeping both the body and mind in shape.

The event also featured an HIV and AIDS awareness session. Patrick W. Tungoe of DAPCU Wokha ran the program as part of an Intensified Information, Education and Communication campaign. Church secretary N. Thungchibemo Ezung confirmed the goal was to push better health awareness throughout the area.

Doctors offered a wide array of support. Patients received blood sugar tests, blood pressure checks, and chest X-rays. Staff also collected sputum samples and issued free medicine. The team processed CMHIS cards for attendees on the spot.
