Guwahati: Nagaland University and Dibrugarh University inked a formal agreement on August 20. The pact establishes new ties for research and academic growth. It spans five years. The deal aims to connect students, teachers, and researchers across both schools.
The signing took place at Dibrugarh University. Prof. Joy Das, the finance officer in-charge for Nagaland University, traveled to the site for the event. Dibrugarh University sent Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Registrar Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, and Commerce Head Dr. Bipasha Chetia to finalize the terms. Three commerce scholars from Nagaland University, already in town for a seminar, watched the signing.
This partnership covers a broad range of initiatives. The schools will pursue student and faculty exchange programs, internships, and joint publications. They plan to host conferences and build capacity through shared resources. The agreement specifically highlights plans for "joint academic courses, conferences, seminars and capacity-building programmes."
Each project requires approval from the necessary authorities. Both universities must follow their own institutional rules before starting specific tasks. The goal remains clear. The partnership seeks to lift higher education standards and focus on regional issues throughout Northeast India.
