Kohima: Nagaland University and Dibrugarh University inked a formal agreement on August 20. The pact establishes a bridge between the two schools in Assam. It aims to sharpen academic ties. Officials from both campuses met to finalize the deal.
Prof. Joy Das, the Finance Officer in charge of Nagaland University, stood in for his institution. Dibrugarh University sent a heavy delegation: Vice Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Registrar Dr. Paramananda Sonowal, and Dr. Bipasha Chetiya, the head of the Department of Commerce.
The partnership covers a wide spread of activities. The two schools plan to swap faculty and students, host joint seminars, and run internship programs. They will also produce shared research papers and create new academic courses. They want to share scholarly resources and build institutional capacity. A press release from Nagaland University noted that the move marks an "important step towards creating sustained opportunities for academic interaction, knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives involving faculty members, researchers and students of both institutions."
