Kiphire Teachers Train for School Emergency Response

Kohima: Kiphire district officials gathered at the DPDB Hall on August 21 to train school staff on child safety. This one-day workshop targeted employees from local PM SHRI schools. They practiced emergency evacuation procedures and fire safety tactics.

The session moved beyond basic drills. It prioritized first aid and school assembly protocols. Teachers also reviewed their specific duties during disaster scenarios. The curriculum included psychological first aid and trauma management techniques to support children after emergencies.

Berela T, a District Project Associate with the District Disaster Management Authority, chaired the event. Takatemjen Pongen, the EAC for Kiphire, opened the floor with a welcome address. T Lichumse Sangtam, an Assistant District Coordinator for DMA Samagra Shiksha, explained the safety measures necessary for PM SHRI institutions. District Education Officer Narola Longkumer monitored the proceedings.

The training finished in the afternoon. Zavito Ltu, the EAC for Kiphire, offered a final vote of thanks to the attendees. He noted, "The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Zavito Ltu, EAC, Kiphire."
