Kiphire Education Officer Wins National Award for Innovative Schools

Kohima: Hanrenla K, the Coordinator of the Educational Block Resource Centre in Pungro Block, Kiphire district, won a national award for her work in education. The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration honored her for Innovation and Good Practices in Educational Administration.

She beat out over 300 candidates. Officials chose 84 officers from 22 states and union territories for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 cycles. Padma Shri Prof J S Rajput and Prof Rama Shankar Dubey handed out the awards during a two-day conference in New Delhi on September 2 and 3.

The award celebrates field-level administrators who build inventive, scalable solutions for local schools. The Kiphire-based Lihpikihna Foundation praised her specific work installing "Hanging Libraries" throughout Pungro Block schools. This project boosted the district profile while expanding access to learning materials.

The local EBRC office also celebrated the win. They credited her leadership for strengthening staff support and pushing sustainable practices. Her work proves that local efforts can produce big results.
