Kohima: The Nagaland Department of School Education and NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission are hosting a state-level workshop on September 16. The event takes place at De Oriental in Kohima. It focuses on the AIM 2.0 Frontier Region Programme, which aims to boost entrepreneurship in remote and border areas. Lend A Hand India is the official implementation partner for the initiative.
Officials plan to establish 2,500 Atal Tinkering Labs nationwide. For Nagaland, the proposal includes 93 new labs and two Atal Incubation Centres. The state is currently gathering feedback to shape local guidelines. Attendees will include representatives from government departments, schools, technical institutions, start-ups, and civil society groups.
Talks will cover infrastructure needs, teacher training, and mentor networks. Schools already operating labs will share their results. Others will discuss the hurdles they face regarding access and readiness. Students will display their work at the venue to show off practical innovations. The workshop serves as a key planning stage. Organizers want to ensure that labs lead to “regular student participation, support for teachers and projects addressing local community needs.” Senior government officials and NITI Aayog representatives will lead the discussions.
