Kohima: Kohima Science College finished its three-day lecture workshop on August 29. The Department of Chemistry hosted the event at the Jotsoma campus. Experts from the Indian Institute of Science, JNCASR, and IIT Delhi served as speakers. They taught undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and faculty. Participants discussed recent trends and research challenges in chemical sciences.
Dr. Daniel Kibami presented the final report. Prof. Balaji R. Jagirdar of IISc Bengaluru encouraged attendees to pursue research with grit. Prof. Limatemjen and Prof. K. K. Tiwari provided the closing remarks. The event aimed to build a strong foundation for young scientists.
Meanwhile, Patkai Christian College held its Science Exhibition 2026 on August 29. The Bundrock-Chapel Auditorium hosted the "Science Beyond Limits" event. Dr. Thokchom Devala Devi opened the session after a prayer from Rev. Dr. Vichükho Ngukha. Principal Dr. Thepfuvilie Pierü addressed the students. He reminded them that "science always starts with a question" and urged them to remain curious.
Special guest Obed Bohovi Swu, a Divisional Forest Officer, advised students to seek practical solutions to environmental issues. The afternoon featured a model-making competition judged by Thingri Sareo, Mongshai TM, and AG Samuel. PM SHRI Government Higher Secondary School took first place. The Mathematics Department of Patkai Christian College followed in second. North Town Higher Secondary School placed third.
