Kiphire authorities order demolition of unstable home

Kohima: Kiphire officials inspected a house in the Medical Ward on September 7. The District Disaster Management Authority intervened after reports that the structure was about to collapse. Berela T, the District Project Associate, led the site visit.

The house sits on unstable ground. It poses an immediate threat to the neighborhood. The family living inside moved to a safer spot as a precaution. Authorities now want the building gone. The agency officially stated, "the structure be dismantled at the earliest to prevent any untoward incident and minimise further risk to surrounding properties."

The State DIPR confirmed the assessment. Experts determined the home remains a hazard to nearby residents. Demolition must happen quickly to avoid a disaster.
