Kohima: The Angami Public Organisation (APO) is pushing for immediate justice following two reports of sexual violence in the Chiephobozou administrative circle. The group issued a statement on October 31 regarding a rape involving a taxi passenger and the sexual abuse of a minor by her own father. Law enforcement must act now. The organization demands a thorough investigation into both incidents without any bias or delay.
The incident inside a taxi triggered alarm about public transport safety. Taxis should provide security and dignity for every passenger. The APO warned that a lack of safety protocols leaves riders vulnerable to predatory drivers. They want authorities and taxi unions to start vetting drivers more strictly and tighten monitoring systems to keep people safe.
Regarding the case of the father accused of abusing his child, the APO did not hold back. They called the act most shocking, inhuman, and depraved. The organization stated, "Home is a sacred institution. A sanctuary where a child is nurtured with love, care and values to become a responsible citizen. It is the first school of morality, security and dignity."
The group emphasized that such behavior clashes with Naga customary ethos and Christian values. Offenders must not walk free. The APO is calling on village councils, youth groups, churches, and citizens to stay alert. They want the entire community to work together to protect the safety and dignity of women and children across the region.
