Shillong: Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSW Group, told graduates at The Assam Royal Global University to grab the opportunities waiting for them. The university held its Sixth Convocation on Friday. Jindal received an honorary Doctor of Letters during the event. He addressed the crowd with a clear vision of the future. "This is the time for India," he told the students.
Jindal reflected on his own career starting 42 years ago with an engineering degree. He told the room that India struggled with growth back then. Now the country stands on the edge of a major transformation. He expects the nation to become a developed country within 25 years. This aligns with the vision set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The convocation marked a massive milestone for the student body. A total of 1,609 graduates accepted degrees and diplomas. This included 45 Ph.D. holders, 832 undergraduate students, 685 postgraduate students, and 47 diploma recipients.
He pushed the new graduates to work with total honesty. He wants them to commit to their goals with real enthusiasm. "Go out there, enjoy what you do, work hard, work with dedication and honesty, and nobody can stop you from becoming what you want to become," he said. The ceremony brought together academics and dignitaries to honor the class of 2026.
