Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Governor K T Parnaik sent warm wishes to state residents on October 30. The message arrived ahead of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day. This annual event honors the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Patel remains a legend. He was the Iron Man of India.

Parnaik described Patel as a visionary. The Governor cited the leader’s fierce determination as the force that unified the country and secured its territorial integrity. He credited Patel for his sharp administrative skills and his deep commitment to the poor and underprivileged. Parnaik believes those traits still inspire citizens today.

The Governor framed the holiday as a necessary reminder. It pushes people to bolster national unity through respect and collective duty. He urged the youth to push past their differences and embrace brotherhood. Parnaik wants a peaceful, prosperous country. He challenged everyone to focus on the future. He stated, "National Unity Day serves as a reminder of the importance of strengthening national unity through mutual respect, collective responsibility and a commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and constitutional values."
