Minister Chang Surveys Landslide Damage in Tuensang

Kohima: Minister for Housing, Mechanical Engineering, and Public Works P Bashangmongba Chang inspected landslide sites along National Highway 202 on August 12. He visited the area near the IOC petrol pump in Tuensang to assess the damage. Disaster teams acted fast. The District Disaster Management Authority successfully evacuated families from the danger zones before the ground gave way. This quick work saved lives.

Chang praised the relief effort. He noted the incident was unfortunate and offered his sympathy to those who lost property. The Minister toured the site alongside party workers, heads of line departments, and the district administration. Earlier that morning, Chang kicked off the Har Ghar Tiranga bike rally at the Parade Ground. The State DIPR reported that the Minister spoke highly of the emergency response, stating the intervention helped "avert loss of life."
