Longleng Youth Run for HIV Awareness

Kohima: Longleng hosted the District Red Run 2026 this Monday. The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society organized the event to educate the public on HIV and sexually transmitted infections. Young adults between 17 and 25 years old sprinted for the cause.

District AIDS Control Officer Dr. Temsusashi spoke before the race. He pushed for early testing and better health habits. The doctor wants the community to drop the stigma surrounding these infections. He told the crowd, "Every individual's effort contributes towards building an HIV-free society."

The event followed the theme of Every Step Counts Against HIV and STIs. Runners turned out in force to support the message. Katlong Phom grabbed first place in the men's category. A Phekmei Phom took second and N Tenkom Phom placed third. C Lingoi won the women's category, with Wanyong D Phom and Oyau Phom taking second and third place.
