Kohima: Major General Harinder Singh Mavi surveyed flood-ravaged Tizit on Saturday. The Inspector General of Assam Rifles North arrived in Mon district to gauge the destruction of homes and essential services. He walked the grounds of the Holy Trinity School, inspecting the ruin left by rising waters. The school requires immediate repairs.

Mavi met with administrators to discuss specific restoration needs. He then sat down with Tizit town committee leaders, including the chairman, secretary, and general body members. These officials detailed the plight of displaced families and the crumbling state of local infrastructure. They pressed the military for rapid intervention.

The commander promised full support. He ordered his troops to prioritize the most vulnerable residents. Mavi told the town representatives, "Assam Rifles would extend assistance for relief, restoration and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas." The military now prepares to deploy help to those struggling in the wake of the deluge.
