Assam Rifles Commander Surveys Flood Damage in Tizit

Kohima: The Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) touched down in Tizit, Mon district, on August 22. The mission: assess the ruin left by recent floods. He surveyed the damage at Holy Trinity School and met with leadership to discuss the path toward repairs.

Local officials stepped up to talk. The Chairman and Secretary of Tizit Town briefed the commander on the plight of residents. They detailed the need for quick infrastructure fixes and immediate aid for displaced families. The Inspector General listened to their report.

He promised aid. The commander ordered his teams to provide targeted support to the hardest-hit victims. He stated: "The initiative also highlighted the Force's continued efforts towards humanitarian assistance, community outreach and restoration of normalcy in flood-affected areas."
