Kohima: Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission launched a three-day training program for Point Persons on Knowledge Management and Communication. The event kicked off August 19 at the State Institute of Rural Development in Kohima. Staff from every district attended.
Additional Mission Director Theose Thongtsar opened the session. He stressed the need for rigorous record-keeping in web portals and narrative reports. Thongtsar told the group, "Every department or organisation is expected to maintain proper records and reports, either as data in web portals or in the form of case studies and narrative reports."
Documentation must track processes, hurdles, and actual outcomes. The state currently struggles with how it stores and shares information. Thongtsar wants a bank of best practices for future innovation. He pushed the team to launch a quarterly newsletter to spread rural development news. The mission issued laptops and cameras to all participants.
The training ends August 21. Attendees will learn to use case study templates based on DAY NRLM and Ministry of Rural Development guidelines. Vertical managers Imonenla Imkong Phom, Atenjen Lemtur, Rajuselie Lhousa, Ebibeni N. Humtsoe, and Khriezovonuo Lhoungu are leading the instruction. Resource person Vishü Rita Krocha will teach reporting and creative writing. Vitoto Sakhrie is handling photography and documentary production sessions.
