Kohima: A Kohima-born cybersecurity firm stepped into the national spotlight this month. Pangerkumzuk Longkumer, director of NEXUSCIPHERGUARD India, represented his company at the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026. The event ran from August 12 to 15 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The Confederation of All India Traders and the India Trade Promotion Organisation hosted the massive four-day exhibition. Organizers expected 1,000 exhibitors, 200,000 business delegates, and 1,000,000 visitors, including 5,000 international guests. NEXUSCIPHERGUARD, incorporated in December 2024, offers vulnerability assessments, cybersecurity awareness, and security consulting.
Longkumer used the platform to pitch his tech to a wider crowd. He sought feedback from markets in Bengaluru, Delhi, and abroad. The founder remains realistic about the trip. "Being there gave us the opportunity to have conversations that would probably be difficult to have from within our usual market. I was able to connect with foreign delegates, explore potential markets and understand how people outside the region look at what we are building," Longkumer said.
The trip generated talk of investment and growth potential. Longkumer warned against jumping to conclusions. He stated that discussions do not equal guaranteed funding. His current focus is converting these professional leads into actual business results. He views the exhibition as a testing ground for his firm's value proposition.
