Guwahati: IndiGo is taking over the skies between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The airline recently launched a direct service connecting Guwahati to Donyi Polo Airport near Itanagar. Currently, planes run five days a week on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Big changes are coming. Starting October 25, the route shifts to a daily operation under the carrier’s revised winter schedule. Officials released these details on October 11.
Current flight times see departures from Guwahati at 11:45 am with an arrival in Itanagar at 12:40 pm. The return leg leaves Itanagar at 1:10 pm and hits Guwahati at 2:05 pm. The schedule changes significantly once the daily service begins. The flight will depart Guwahati at 12:35 pm to land at 1:25 pm. The return flight takes off from Itanagar at 3:00 pm and reaches Guwahati at 3:55 pm.
This route aims to solve long-standing transit headaches. The airline stated that the service is part of its efforts to "strengthen regional air connectivity and provide passengers in the Northeast with better access to destinations across India."
Travelers now have better reach. The new schedule opens up onward connections to major hubs including Chennai, Bengaluru, Kochi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Lucknow. IndiGo advises all passengers to check the official website for updates before booking their travel.
